Why we review across genres, not just one
We could have made this a pure tower defence site. Plenty of people told us to. But playing only one genre makes you lose perspective on what's actually good.
When you switch between an RPG like Emberbound Tales and a tight arcade game like Big Rush Cast, you start noticing what each does with pacing, controls and reward loops. Ideas cross over. A clever menu from a racer can inspire how you judge a strategy game's UI.
Variety also keeps the writing honest. It's easy to overrate the tenth similar game because you're numb to its flaws. Coming back after something completely different resets your standards.
So yes, the catalogue jumps around. That's on purpose, and we think it makes the strategy coverage sharper, not weaker.
